We sadly report that the tree house ‘Bean Can’ has been evicted. It was the last tree house that was remaining at Jones Hill Woods, and it lasted 8 days after eviction started.

Mark in the video below said:

“The Bean Can is Empty. The police have refused point-blank, to investigate any of the legalities of HS2. They have absolutely failed in their duty of impartiality. They have been trespassing (aggravated trespass all afternoon). They had no right to be on this land because the landowner did not want them to be on the land. There was no reason for the police to be here, other than to stop us from witnessing a foul nasty eviction carried out by them for which there was no legal backing.

There was no court order for them to act on. The eviction for Jones Hill Woods has long been a common law eviction. The high court has no place here, the police have no place here. Their actions have been thoroughly illegal and thoroughly partial to the wrong people… to the corporations, to the money makers, to those who don’t care about our future, about your children.

I hope one day you will all realise how much power you can have, how much voice you have, but it’s not through parliament. It’s not through sticking a cross on a paper once every five years. It’s by being out here. It’s by being here and making things happen. With more people, we can absolutely stop this travesty on some dream of public transport.
